Ask
anyone where Ottawa's original fresh fish restaurant is located and
they'll tell you it's part of the famous ByWard Market, where numerous
vendors display their fresh produce and artisans their handcrafted wares.
Conveniently situated within 5 minutes walking distance of parliament
Hill and other major attractions.
The building has been an integral part of the ByWard Market since its
construction as a hotel in 1925. It remained such until 1929 when it
was purchased by a prominent local family and transformed into a retail
store. Fifty years later in 1979 it was converted into Ottawa's first
fresh fish restaurant.
Still one of Ottawa's most popular and successful restaurants, it proudly
boasts of importing fish and shell fish from all over the world, truly
making us the "Fish Experts".
